How Snapchat Dominated New York Fashion Week
The app is proving to be the new favorite amongst the fashion flock.
If your Instagram feed was filled with fewer
blurry runway photos from the front row this season, you can probably
thank Snapchat for that. While the fashion flock has been testing the
waters on the cultish app for the past few months now, New York Fashion
Week fully cemented the industry's snapping obsession. With photos and
videos that only last for 24 hours, the app is the perfect outlet to
share backstage videos, quick snaps from the runway shows (even if
blurry), crazy cab rides with friends and personal moments like letting
loose at after parties.
Michael
Kors was one of the first major fashion houses to jump on the Snapchat
bandwagon this week with a feature on the app's "Our Stories" section.
For 24 hours, the designer took followers behind-the-scenes on the day
of his Fall 2015 runway show sharing exclusive snaps of the
top models, the backstage team that makes the show happen, celebrities
front row and even Kors himself—with the snaps garnering major
attention and over 11 million views.
